The power probably went on and off several times due to the company switching lines, attempting to get some customers back on as soon as possible. No, I'm not defending GEBE, just stating info absorbed from living with a power systems engineer for 43 years!

We've been here for a couple weeks and no power outage til last night. Like most resorts, Belair has generator so we were only out for a minute or two.

Typically, at least in the states, if your power is out for more than 15 seconds, it ain't coming back on anytime soon!!

It was interesting watching it from the 5th floor of SBR B building. The grids failed from east to west...SBR first then the Karacter area to airport to Royal Islander. Generator kicked in after a few seconds almost everywhere except most of Beacon Hill. The airport went off on on multiple times but other areas seemed to hang in.

Power just went out (3pm). Generators running at SBR...

We lost power a few times last night after 9 PM, each time our generator at Ocean Club kicked in quickly and we were fine.

Daily Herald editorial I couldn't find the actual story in the online version, but these are the excuses that GEBE gave this time.. And apparently the Chinese thing is still happening..
