Saw a post about this and am wondering what it is. It is going on the same week we are going to be on charter Jan 3-10. Does it impact moorings and how many boats are usually involved. Sounds like one big floating Party.

Frat party atmosphere. Good luck. Generally they operate somewhat as a flotilla, so with some planning you can try to avoid their particular route/stops.Some of the participants have wised up to the mob scene and now head out on their own to"avoid the crowds". Just like cruise shippers that can be heard on Cane Garden "next cruise I want to go to an uncrowded beach". See if they have posted an itinerary and work around that.

It is 'one big floating party' as you mentioned - it definitely affects mooring availability in the destination of the day and impacts the quality of life in the anchorage that night - positive or negative depending on your personal preferences or need to party. It looks like they will announce the planned itinerary on their site but of course that may not be exact depending on weather conditions. https://www.theyachtweek.com/blog/2016/10/new-video-release-live-the-yacht-weekhttps://www.theyachtweek.com/how-it-works

Definitely frat party atmosphere, but it makes for some fun people watching. They operate on a close itinerary and all stick together, often rafting up the entire fleet at their given location. This makes them particularly easy to avoid if one chooses to do so. When I was last down (for NYE) they were rafted around Foxy's Taboo while we we anchored at B-Line. We had B-Line to ourselves, and never had a single problem with them. If you do feel like partying they can be a fun group to join up with for an evening or two.

check their itinerary and then go the reverse route.
Frat party is a great description. They often come into the mooring field later in the day when it is too late for you to switch harbors. We had a most unpleasent night at Trellis one year, and after that we were careful to avoid the flotilla. There are lots of harbors and islands available to you, so unless you want to be part of the party, choose your itinerary carefully.

Great. Just realized that they will be there from the 27th of December through the 3rd of January, which is when we are there. Looks like Foxy's is going to be very busy this year...

Is the itinerary published somewhere? I'd like to plan our trip to avoid the flotilla.
Thanks Tim

They have a sample on their website but I e-mailed and messaged them on Facebook. I'm sure that they will be happy to share their itinerary. I'll post it here when I hear from them.

So they got back to me and told me that they are not willing to share their itinerary. Guess I'll just have to wait and see where they go. Won't be hard...

I'll bet any amount of money that I can figure out their itinerary. Should not be too hard. Just follow the booze & bikini's. Should make for a great NYE at Foxy's

I saw that, it they do indicate that it is only a sample and that the actual itinerary will be released 2 weeks prior to departure.

I heard back from them and they will not share their itinerary. Apparently, they think that I WANT to join up with them but don't want to pay them for the experience. I told them that I actually want to AVOID them as much as necessary. Ran into those groups when I was sailing in Croatia and they really bring nothing to the table. Except some really delicious eye candy. Can't say that I didn't enjoy that

One idea to avoid is to find the small anchorages that can't hold the large fleet.

Nope, they won't share. But in all reality, I don't think that they are bringing their own yachts. I am guessing that they are simply chartering ones that are already there. So there should be a fairly finite number of boats in the BVI's and they just happens to have a few of those. In the end, I think that it will make for some great parties.
