Most likely Buccaneer Beach Bar (BBB) and it is often referred to like that on here.

What is the specific name of the unit/condo the original poster is asking about?

I think most people know what the BBB is.

I guess I'm not most people. I'm sure you're pretty stressed out writing Buccaneer Beach Bar, I'm exhausted. We will not support a place that refuses to serve water. Even after buying a $12 scotch, nope $15 with a water back.

I think you're mistaken there, talking about another establishment altogether..

As I recall BBB does not serve tap water. Only bottled water at 3.00.

I know I've gotten glasses of ice water there over the years though I'm not a regular. Perhaps I just got lucky. Or perhaps, maybe not so?

I have ordered Dewars and water there (BBB/Buccaneer Beach Bar) before and never paid anything close to that and from what I recall, the water was added out of a bottle. I am thinking around $6?

While I am not a fan of the place and some of their business practices, I have never experienced what you described.

Meanwhile, back to the original question/topic......

Sorry about the abbreviation - I do get tuckered out typing all those letters smile Seriously, though, I've never been charged for water there so I'm sorry if you were.

Anyway, I hope your questions have been answered and that you enjoy your time on Simpson Bay!

You could easily pay 12 for a top shelf singe malt where water isn't added but served on the side.

I took this whole section out of the original post, as it had nothing to do with the original post. But looks like I messed up part of it. Sorry.

I am aware of that fact but does BBB even have high end single malt scotch? And if they did, I doubt I would order it there.

This is a fact. We even tried them again and were refused water. There are a lot better and more expensive Scotch's the Dewars.

You know, I have gone the high $$ single malt route and tried MANY expensive blends also. I have also found that $$ does not always equate to personal taste. I am involved in some wine tastings here at home and like with scotch, $$ does not always equate to personal taste. There are people known as "wine snobs" and now I guess there are "scotch snobs" also.

I am personally not a fan of BBB after more than one bad experience there. Yes, myself and others posted about it here but we also made the choice not to return instead of continuing to harp on it. Other than for a drink, I have not been to BBB to eat in over 2 years. Even picking on someone else for using the initials "BBB" is over the top. Many people on this forum abbreviate or use initials for the airport (SXM), Orient Beach (OB) and other things.

You really need to get over the bottled water deal. Many sporting and other events routinely sell bottled water and pop/soda for $3, $5 and $6 or more per bottle. The choice is yours, pay it and enjoy it or walk away. Same goes for alcoholic beverages. $8 to $10 for probably 50 cents to $1 worth of draft beer at many events and the same choice, pay it or don't pay it.

Like buying gas or diesel fuel on the water, WAY higher than on land but that is what one does if they have that need.

If they charge $3 for water, Carib is definitely cheaper smile

I heard once that the definition of a wine snob is someone who is more concerned with the label and price than the contents of a bottle

Ruralcarrier, you are completely missing my point. Scotch snob? seriously, I don't even drink scotch. I was making a point. I own a restaurant. Can you imagine me not serving water. I would be out of business in a month. I know you going to give me the "island" story. I call it customer service. It's greedy, rude, and to me, completely unacceptable. The first and last time we went to Toppers, ordered 2 beers, 2 lunches, and 2 glasses of water. We probably would have spent $40-50 dollars. When they refused the water, we canceled the order. It's water for God's sake. This is a just plain horrible business plan. OK, vented and over
