I do not see the story online anywhere yet, but the Court has ruled that Lee's must vacate the premises by March 2017. Lee has appealed. Sad passing of an era..

While it is sad and who knows what the complete story might be, didn't you recently say the following in another post?

I like all the changes the island has taken.

This would be another one of those "changes".

Yes, I get the full (pay) version of the DH, which is the same as the paper version. What I meant was that I haven't seen it ONLINE anywhere yet.

It's true, - and they are fighting it tooth and nail. We went there 2 weeks ago with friends and spoke to the owner about it.

You just love to come back at me. Yes I said that and still like most all the changes that have taken place. This isn't a change, it's a court order because of a tenant and landlord disagreement.

Which will likely cause "change" if it goes through.

All depends on if Lee's can relocate or become part of what they have planned for that location. looks like it's a wait and see and I'll continue to be open minded to see what comes about.

While I hope it works out for Lee, sadly, I think the place has lost some of its lustre. Not all fish is fresh (I have seen boxes of imported frozen fish) and I have seen some cooking techniques that would make me go elsewhere.

If you remember back 15 years or so ago, Less's has greatly expanded. I have often wondered if this was done so properly or if the business just kind of spread out since nothing was preventing it from doing so.

I wonder if this is the only property that will be closed. The article mentioned:

The corporation wants to develop commercial buildings and a marina at the location but to be able to do this Lee’s Roadside Grill would have to go.

I know Lee's is a decent parcel but a "marina and building(S)"??? It's buffered very closely on both sides by other establishments

Article was in Tuesday's paper. We were having breakfast with Hilma (Windsor Castle Hilma), and she heard it's a done deal. And, Lee's isn't the only business that will be saying "bye-bye"! There is a dive business next door that will also be history. If they can do this to Lee's, no business is safe that is showing a profit and successful. Big brother is always looking over your shoulder, no matter what country you're in!

There is another small business beside Lee's that will also be getting the heeve-ho, too, from what we were told.
