Yes, reported here a few times. It will be a sad day for all plane fanatics in SXM.

Would Tortuga cafe at Royal Islander be a good place to watch? Trying to have breakfast, yet be away from the chaos and anarchy.

Not a hundred percent certain, Leona, but I don't think you can see the airport from Tortuga and for sure, not if the plane takes the normal flight path over the mountain. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/handshake.gif" alt="" />

Leona, why not try El Zafiro? I believe they serve breakfast, and I'm pretty sure you could see the takeoff from in front of the building.

I was going to say Mary's Boon, because there, they have a viewing stand, where the fence won't be in the way. Nothing worse, when you're trying to take a picture, than having to shoot through a fence.

We are going to head over to Sunset at about 10. If it's total insanity we will spend (oh the horror) another wonderful day at El Zafiro. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />
Plan was to capture the landing from Sunset and takeoff from Zafiro.

Does anyone know what time the flight lands. I would like to watch it on the Maho Cam? Thanks.

I wonder whether we will be able to see it on the Maho cam, or whether it will be totally overloaded with people trying to view the landing.

Don't know, but you'd better get a move on, regardless! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Laugh.gif" alt="" />

Don't know anything about LaTerrasse with regard to serving food but I can see why it would be a great place to watch the airport events.
For the record - I agree with Carol - get a move on it, Lady!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" /> <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/jester.gif" alt="" />

Just landed. Lots and lots of people at Maho with special KLM tees and hats. Kind of emotional.

They went over St. Barths also, I think. I was hoping for a water cannon salute when they go to leave, although if they do that, wouldn't it be on arrival? I saw it land, but then had to get offline.

Not really sure what's going on. They are still sitting there, supposed to leave at noon. They have firetrucks out there, so guess they will give them a good send off!!

I have to say that Mahobeachcam did a wonderful job!! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" /> I figured that the load would be too much for them, but the signal and picture were great! <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Clapping.gif" alt="" />

I just had to post, I would have thought it would have been out there before??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5aH_FkKF...cb-001a114a1f8cAnd then we were there on the tarmac as it wheeled past us sitting!!!! SO! we were stuck on the plane because some woman who claimed she needed medical attention, didn't want to wait to be last off the plane from the last row! We were on that Delta plane as KLM slipped by us and all we could see was out of a tiny port window of it wheeling along side of us. I kept saying as were sitting bulkhead, let me out, I want to take pictures and video. BUT NOOO!!!
Sand Gravity, got to love it!

We were on Friars beach when in the distance there was KLM big blue coming toward us as it flew over the island it looked like it was suspended just standing still , could almost not look away from it the sky behind just made it look awesome . Then I decided to take a picture by the time I got the camera it was gone , but still in my memory .

David--I'm not sure that particular video has been posted here before, but there have been a couple posted.
I'm sure it was so frustrating, not being able to see it better! I knew you were coming in that same day and wondered whether you were able to see it or not.
