Here we are, and I thought I'd put up a couple of posts. The first is about Pat's Roadhouse. For those of you familiar with the Boathouse, very near the entrance to the Simpson Bay/Flamingo resorts, the owner opened a bar/grill in front a couple of years ago. He has now turned that over to Patrick, who used to run Bon Apetit near Flamingo. He is a garrulous Frenchman, who mixes awesome drinks. They also make a truly great hamburger. Not some frozen brick, the real deal. Also on the menu...tapas, although we did not have any. Great spot for a quick, reasonable, and delicious meal and drinks.

I didn't realize that place was run by the guy who used to run Bon Appetite. He has always had a good reputation.

We love Patrick and wrote about Pat's Roadhouse back in November. If I can find photos I'll insert later.

Patrick will be remembered by many as working also on Orient for Elisa at the kiosh in front of the original Bikini Beach. He's a hard worker and after working at many establishments on the island as bartender and waiter we know he's so happy to be running his own business.

We had several tapas all prices very well and the food was delicious. His laughter is infectious.

Does anyone have any comments about The Boathouse? We use to love it but haven't been there in years.

We had so much fun at Pat's Roadhouse in May. The tapas were great, and he seemed very proud of his menu. And that ginger rhum! OMG. If you are sitting at the little bar you really feel like you're at a private party he's hosting - what a great place. My favorite quote: "Four people and four ashtrays - you must be French!".

Met Patrick when he was bartender at the Kon Tiki beach bar years ago
