As I said yesterday, Tuesday evening was a trip to Grand Case. It was a beautiful night and we really enjoyed Il Nettuno. Grace had a whole Snapper and I had Linguini And Lobster in a cream sauce. Lobster chunks and 1/2 a tail. Was delicious and the service was great.

Yesterday was spent on the beach. Up until yesterday the breeze was from the east and rather like Aruba. Never really felt the heat. That changed to from the south and died down a bit. The southerly breeze and waves brought some seaweed to Simpson Bay. Not much and not Sargasso. Just grassy seaweed.

Dinner last night at Marios Bistrot. Very good meal. Grace had Stripped Bass and I had Shrimp and Scallops. Both served over crab risotto and broccolini.

Today is pretty still.. Not sure where we are headed. Came to the conclusion that a week in not enough.

Sounds great! We need to get back to Mario's, especially due to the new location. We haven't been there in a LONG time.

I agree that a week is too short. Others like longer periods, but I personally like 10 days. Much longer than that, and I get a little antsy and miss my puppies at home too much! Enjoy the rest of your stay!

Initially, I thought one week was too short. Well, we go Saturday to Saturday every October, and by Thursday I'm already kind of homesick !!!

i don't know......we started going one week...then nine days.....then two weeks.....and now three weeks.....and by the end of the third week I am craving another three weeks!!! We find the 21 days go by so fast.....and every year we go with a new itinerrary of things to do....but ninety percent of them don't get touched. smile Sand gravity...... I do miss our dog too......but not enough to want to shorten our stay. LOL I guess to each their own. Every year we seem to have the same conversation too....about maybe someday chuckin' it all in the states, and make the move permanent....but then i think i would get ''antsy''...but not sure how long it would take. smile

Just finishing up our two week stay and yes we miss the pup but we also would love another week. But it's back to work to enjoy another vacation in Sxm.

We didn't eat at Marios but some friends we know did and enjoyed the location and food very much! It's on the list for hopefully October!

We totally enjoy our 3 weeks doing very little. We have friends that moved to Turks & Caicos & they dont walk the beach every day or sit & look at sunset because the view is all normal everyday. We enjoy the total change of life for a finite space of time.

I think that might be a male/female thing, Rosemary.

My DH is good for a week to ten days but after that he gets 'antsier' by the day. Last year I convinced him we Had to do eighteen days and next trip I'm shooting for three full weeks. Don't know how he's gonna' do but I know I'll be one very happy camper!

Yep. I got David up to three weeks, but after the second, he's ready to leave.

Last Feb. was our first 4 week trip and we loved it. We are doing it again next year. We have a two bedroom time share and invite different guests. Last year was like three different vacations. Alone time, then one couple, then another couple, ending with a few days of alone time. I have a very antsy husband and it worked out great.

We've also gradually moved up from a week to 2 weeks in November and love it. When we can, we like to sneak in another week in late/winter or early Spring. The November weather is usually better for us. We like it a bit warmer and with less wind.

Can't seem to leave the island in summer. Weather has been dry and boating has been great this year. Plus could be Claudio's last year

We did three weeks last year staying at three different resorts: Simpson Bay Resort, The Divi and Club O. The first two were RCI exchanges so they only cost $209 per week. Kinda felt like the "vacation" part of our trip started when we got to Club O. The first two weeks we spent a lot of time driving. Looking forward to four weeks in November.

I think my husband would stay forever, but I worry about things at home and being healthy the whole time.

Terry,

You need to worry less and enjoy more, my friend. Life is what it is and it will go on no matter where we are geographically. And it's not like the island is light travel years away - just a 3.5 hour plane ride away. I think Rit has the right idea......
