We normally sail the BVIs and USVIs, but pushed the envelope this year heading to the leewards for a month. We spent about 12 days on the two sides of St martin, with lots of good food, pleasant anchorages, and fun ashore. The biggest (pleasant) surprise was Lagoonies - we were expecting normal beachside lowbrow food (which we love), and instead got great French food at reasonable prices, and $2 pints of Heineken at HH. Why aren't they world famous for sailors, or land-based people for that matter ? Anyway, I promised to give them a shoutout when we got home, so here you go.

Been to Lagoonies a bunch of time. Great place for drinks and live music......Food.....if you think that it was great French food, i bet you haven't been on the island for too long. The best meal i think i cold say i have eaten there was fair to mid at most.

They do have good reasonable food. The place has spruced up quite a bit in the last couple of years. Before it was just a "docking" space but we still loved it!

Lagoonies is very popular with cruising sailors, probably in the top 2 most visited places on the entire island. Budget Marine is most likely number 1 visited <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />
