Carol,
I just finished booking our April JB flight down and the cut-off date for this release is MAY2 for sure. Once again, I had issues with the JB website and called. The agent couldn't have been any nicer and said people have been having problems all afternoon so no charge. And I wasn't paying too much attention but she may have said they did away with their telephone booking fee altogether. Or not......
AA is still not showing coach fares for April 15 on the N/S we generally take and the discounted First Class seats are around $550.00 each one way so even though I would prefer AA we're flying JB for $289.00 each for the up front seats one way for our flight down.
Our dates aren't available for the return so the agent suggested I check back in 6-7 weeks. And while I was on the website I looked at the JFK to Boston to SXM - wow! I hope for all you Mass flyers it's an error but right now they're showing that flight as a JFK option at $900.00 + or - for one way! I hope you don't have to pay that kind of money......

As of now, Jet Blue isn't an option for me, but jeez louise, they need to fix their website issues...

The February flights are crappy, too. We always fly the end of February and the layover at JFK is almost 7 hours. No thank you! May try to move our vacation up to March 2 when the layover is only 1 hour. How dare they!!!!

yeah Pat I saw that JFK-BOS-SXM flight too and could;t believe it. There's a flight from BOS- JFK SXM for less than the above. None of it makes sense.
It might be what SXM gave JB for landings? Maybe the rumor about customs at SXM is correct so they will allow more time on flights?
We always took flight #77 down with arrival around noon and took the 12:30 (I think) on the return. Now that flight #78 leaves around 2:30. I guess we'll be in the crowd. Loved being the first at JB window and up thru the maze and into the departure area in less than 20 mins.

We booked our flights on JB on Sunday night (7/10), non-stop out of JFK. A little over $600 p/p r/t. Then we add on the more leg room seats, and it piles up.
The thing that irked me the most was their flight schedule. We usually fly the end of February, but the flight had a 7 hour layover at JFK from SYR. We'd leave SYR at 5:45am, but not arrive in SXM until 6:30pm! That wasn't going to happen! So, we changed our vacation dates to accommodate a better flight schedule. Now, we have only a 40 minute time span between the SYR and JFK flight to SXM. Praying for a speedy flight to JFK and the potential arrival in SXM of our luggage!!

OMG!!! I looked at Jetblue yesterday (jfk non-stop) and thought it was high---today it's $184 more per ticket making it $890 . May have to swim...... This is for April 2017.

Terry,
Think about changing your time frame from Friday to Friday to Wednesday to Wednesday if you can. It gets you further away from Easter and you can do two tix for under the price of one for your current dates. Just a thought.....

Booked on Sunday for April 2017- BOS, JFK, SXM down. SXM Boston Back April 20-29. Just under 1200.00 for two people. First flight out of Boston is 5:40 am. We are taking a 5 something flight out of SXM that gets into BOS about 9:30 ish. Guess they have done away with the Sunday non stop.

Won't buy that extra time anymore because twice we did and waited at TSA watching people without it go faster. TSA agent told me it's because JB pays for only one dedicated agent so most times other lines go faster.

Guess they have done away with the Sunday non stop. We are flying N/S both ways on Sundays in January (BOS) and I checked the 1st 2 Sundays in April and there is a 1240p N/S from BOS (#377)with a 540p return N/S to BOS (#378) ..and re: extra space: it's TSA precheck that gets us into that line and I have never seen more than 10 people in front of us (in BOS) vs. a crap load in the other line. Paying JB for "extra space" gets you priority boarding and a better seat pitch. I do agree just paying for "extra time" every flight is kinda a waste.

Check the seat map...133 empty seats on that Sunday flight #377 (April 2nd)
Maybe one seat AT THAT PRICE

It seems they like to do that. Only offer one seat at that price, knowing you will be flying with someone else, so you have to purchase at least one ticket at the higher price.

The "only x seats available" is totally bogus. In my opinion it is just a ploy to get you to book NOW... FYI...I was able to potentially book 4 one ways at that "only one seat available" fare....with basically the whole plane empty they are not gonna raise the price after only a few seats are booked.. Itinerary Estimated total 4 travelers $1,111.60 USD

Someone once told me that when a route or timeframe opens X amount of seats are priced somewhat low. Once that percentage is filled (one seat left; 2 seats left etc) then the next price tier falls into place and so on until near departure date then rock bottom price but usually REALLY, LITERARY, only one seat left.

Well I just booked on JB 3 outbound tickets for 3/12 JFK-Sxm. 717.00 for all three with one bag each thought that was pretty good! Since the family will all be leaving at separate times at least I know when we are going!!! I did it on the app on my phone and had zero issues. Kind of happy they have the 1:30 flight going. Since you can't check into the resort until 4 and that time of year it's almost impossible to check in early, getting in at 5:30 is no problem. Plus we don't have to leave CT by 3:30am!!!!

What is with the pricing from JFK to Sxm in October, I booked in June for October travel to SXM, and the cost with Delta was 394.57, now trying to book for a friend and both airlines are double the cost, its over 800.00, we used to get great deals with Jet blue, not anymore and Delta is real high now too!

With the exception of special sales, it seems all the airlines are off the wall with pricing right now. We were trying to book for Easter weekend travel to SXM from JFK and their one way fare on the only nonstop is still showing a price of over $800.00 for a Saturday n/s flight.
But the good news is, I received a notice this morning that JB is running a sale for dates through early November so perhaps you can cash in on that for your friend?
You'd think with the lowered prices across the board of fuel and the increased revenues from seats and baggage fees, etc., you might be able to catch a decent fare but I think there's this thing called greed...........and the airlines are cashing in on it as much as they can get away with.
Respectfully,
pat
