Some here love svi.
It's relatively undeveloped. Not many restaurants.
Most of the sailing is straight up wind or down wind as svi aligned east west.
Personally, I prefer the Bvi.

Yes, stay away from the SVI. There is nothing there to see or do. The sailing is upwind both ways. It's not crowded enough. The public mooring balls are all free (and some are poorly maintained). There are lots of places to anchor for solitude. The food and drinks are too cheap even with the 11.5 percent sales tax. Most of the locals are friendly and welcoming. The fishing is too good. The snorkeling is too good. You can have an entire bay to yourself. Flamenco Beach is hideous, look it up. Major travel publications rank it as a top 10 beach frequently. Also, before I forget, stay away!!! That way it will be just like I left it last time. <img src="http://www.traveltalkonline.com/forums/images/graemlins/Wink.gif" alt="" />
Enough sarcasm. No, it's not for everyone but what place is?
