And I promise to do that very soon, though it will probably sound boring to a lot of you because we have pretty much been beach junkies on this trip. We arrived on May 28 at LaVista Beach, spent the first week with just the two of us, and our good friends joined us for this week. We were all scheduled to leave together this coming Saturday, but hubby looked at me this morning and said, "What do you say we stay another week?" Yeah, like I'd argue with that! Haha! So some quick rearranging of schedules, changing flights, finding a place to stay (either here at LaVista, though not at the beachfront building OR at a Royal Palm 5th floor unit). We're leaning toward remaining here at LV, but will decide in the morning. I promise to write some semblance of a trip report. For now, just know I'm a happy camper. Who could complain about an extra unexpected week on our favorite island?

Ah, I am totally envious, that you could even think about staying an unexpected extra week!!! Enjoy, but definitely do get us a trip report!

Neat - we (and probably most) have often wished that we could do that. Congrats!

Sorry for the late reply. Just got back on here. Delta Airlines charges a $200 change fee per ticket, plus any (increased) difference in fare. Luckily, the fare was the same as when we originally booked, so we paid $400 to change our tickets. Normally, we probably would think harder before doing this, but we came into this trip both mentally and physically exhausted and really, really needed the break. Sometimes you just have to grab onto what feels right, if and when you can. Giving ourselves another week just felt right. We're still on island, still having fun, and VERY relaxed - so for us, it was a good decision.

Good for you!!! (Gotta say though, when you get home, maybe you need to pay it forward with a pretty extensive
trip report??? )

Hi, Robin,

So glad you were able to grab the brass ring and make it all work for you. Life is short and sometimes you just have to do it when it feels right.

Enjoy, my friend, enjoy!

Hi Pat, thank you! The brass ring feels really good right about now. And you are SO right -- life is short. That's why we try to follow our hearts when the stars align just right.
