new stuff we noticed on our recent trip:
Oceans Seven in Great Harbour on Peter Island currently has 20 mooring balls, they are adding another 10 for a total of 30, they will not exceed 30 as they don't want to ruin the snorkelling in the vicinity of their restaurant
Oceans Seven is also extending their dinghy dock, they've discovered it's too high and sometimes difficult for boaters for ingress/egress
Oceans Seven is now a regular stop for Seadream cruise ships
The Sandbox on Prickly Pear Island in North Sound, Virgin Gorda has 10 brand spanking new mooring balls - pay at the Sandbox, they've been in for about a month, I'm sure we were the first on the ball we had because I've never seen a ball, line and eye sooooo clean and in perfect condition!
Also at the Sandbox is Prince (a little larger than the famous one) who is absolutely outstanding on an acoustic guitar. Ask him to play the duet with George Michael and Elton John - brilliant! Red Rat was hanging around as well and both he and Prince will captain your boat to Anegada, Red Rat also has charters to Anegada on his boat which I noticed posted by the harbourmaster's office at Leverick.
Also at Sandbox, they have a brand new dock, so new, the deck board ends cut off were still laying not far away from the dock. very nice dock.
Bath and Turtle in Virgin Gorda Yacht Harbour has a new bar/deck on the lawn area between the slips and the parking lot between Bucks and the restaurants/shops. They weren't too busy and it looked really new. The new VGYH marina buildings are coming along nicely and appear to be almost completed outside. It will be huge!
Paradise Club/Big Banana in CGB also have a new bar/deck extending from their frontage onto the sand to the right of the main stairway. They had just finished it when the 20 foot swells came up a couple weeks ago and totally washed it away, the water came in through the front door and out the back right through the kitchen. They just finished replacing the deck and bar structure and it's back up for business. No damage at all to the restaurant from the swells other than the new deck.
Also Stanleys on CGB had swells up and through their restaurant (in the front door, out the back) and they also have no damage.
