We have AT&T and just use the international plan and limit our phone calls. On our last trip down we were able to get US based voice and data coverage well into the BVIs. At times as far in as Cooper we were getting a US signal. Can't say you will see the same, but it is probably worth keeping an eye on your phone when you are on the more western side of the islands.
