You may be short-changing yourself. There's no guarantee the gulley will be at Friar's Bay or that it will be impassable if it is. If you drive carefully, you can avoid the pot holes en route. Personally, I think Friar's Bay Beach Café (?) Club (?) is not to be missed. I had one of the best meals of my trip there last June.
