We headed to Mullet Bay for some Beach time and lunch at Rosie's. Chester is off the island, so we did not have his usual greeting. We rented 2nd row chairs from someone who said he was working for Chester. $25 for 2 loungers and an umbrella. The water was cooler than in August but still nice for this time of year. Pretty calm with the occasional big wave that would wipe a few people, including myself, out. Inflation has hit the beer prices at Rosie's. Beer was $3 last year on both visits but a beer is now $5 or $25 for a bucket of 6. Hotdogs were still $4 and about the only time I have one on the island. Mullet Bay got very crowded, and we departed about 2:00pm.

Spent some time around Royal Palm before going to SMYC for HH and then a sunset cruise on No1SXM. Lots of wind made for some good sailing. This is my favorite way to do a sunset cruise as Pieter and Mirian do a very good job and with 16 people, it is not at all crowded. They have added some bench type seating that replaces the stadium seats they previously had. We sailed near the yacht, Dragonfly, which is owned by a co-founder of Google. Thanks to Cody who was on the sunset cruise with me for the picture.

I met my local friend, Junior Bruney, for dinner at The Palms. They were full but I had made reservations, and I doubt anybody got in last night without reservations. I had the filet mignon as several people on here had recommended it. It was as good as any I have had elsewhere, a nice size and grilled perfectly. Junior had grilled Mahi and shrimp combo. We shared a bottle of wine and each had dessert. It made for a good evening. No service charge added and a 5% discount for cash payment.

I don't see how the island is going to handle the increased traffic that is bound to happen with all the building going on. Traffic was crawling through Simpson Bay most of the evening and the lack of parking is obvious.

Pleasant weather so far, much cooler than August with just a little overnight rain Sunday night.

No food or beach pictures, just my friend of 34 years, Junior Bruney Taxi 163.
