If you have a boat, anchor directly in Gun Creek. I used to do it all the time when clearing into and out of the BVI (while the office was open). The holding is good. And if your dinghy can plane, then the trip there from anywhere in the north sound isn't too bad. The dinghy dock at Gun is quite small but protected. It is used by locals.
