If you don't mind walking to a parking area and going up and down some
steep terrain to get there, Mont Vernon is a decent economical place to stay. They have a nice brand new pool and some accommodations are pretty decent.
Several of the rentals are studio apartments and some have great views of the ocean. The rent is $100 something per night typically. Pretty easy drive to Orient and can even walk about a mile along the beach to get there. Just get home before dark If you decide to walk.
