My experience:
1) Thanks to the tip on this forum, I knew to put a + in from of my cell phone number, so dodged that bullet (in all fairness to the form, the ghosted out example DOES include a +).
2) A bit of fumbling around, but found the drop downs on the date calendars so avoided the pain of scrolling through
3) Using my Canadian home address was not an option, I live in rural Saskatchewan and the closest option the drop down provided was over an hour away. No such thing as a county option for Canadian addresses either. Rather than use incorrect info, I simply used my US address (seasonal resident for the winter) which is entirely accurate since that is where I was departing from to travel to SXM. And probably the more appropriate entry anyway.
4) Our AA flight from MIA landed almost an hour early on a Saturday afternoon (Dec 7th), beating Air France
5) Walked off the plane, into the terminal, through the stanchion lines right up to a kiosk without stopping
6) Scanned passport (again due to a tip from this forum, I knew to push down hard)
7) Exited through the checkpoint gate and out to the baggage carousel to wait for luggage
Talk about the stars aligning! It was easily the fastest entry that I have made in almost 30 years of travel to SXM.
Our friends who arrived the following Friday in the later afternoon? 1.5 hours to get through entry and then stuck in traffic for 2.5 hours.
What I learned from this is that any individual experience is a total crap-shoot. But isn't that true for most of life?
