I suppose it is good news, but sounds like a lot of money (another $100 million) to fix the structure. Wasn’t it insured?
No doubt the terminal was pretty, but when looking at the dents and damage to all the custom facade siding and curved ‘leading edge wing’ surfaces, it would seem to me they would be better off using roofing, siding, facade and window materials that come in ready made dimensions. Cheaper and easier to repair when the next Irma comes.
Except in a monsoon, I like coming down air stairs to the tarmac. So, skip the jetways. I’ll change my tune when I’ve got a walker. But there were folks bringing people up/down last trip. I’ll tip big then.
