I think that is the right thing to do. Once the airport can accept commercial flights Diamond can get their crew in to asses the damages and come up with a plan to get the resort back in shape. With out having to combine entertaining tourist during repair they can concentrate on just repairs and get the resort back to fully operational. Right now all they can do is major clean up of the grounds. They sustained a lot of destruction and it will take a lot of uninterrupted work to bring the resort back.
