I have been renting on SXM for 25 years and have been purchasing the $5/day liability insurance without question or concern.
Out of curiosity, I asked my Dutch side rental company about the cap on any claim and was shocked to learn that with my rental company it is only $50,000 USD.
Questions:
Is this low cap typical?
At home I carry $2,000,000 CAD.
Does anyone have knowledge of larger awards?
I cannot believe that this meager liability cap would be adequate if I were to cause a tour bus to flip or if I were to plow into a squad of lawyers on Front Street.
