I have tried repeatedly attempting to get in touch with Alain over the past few weeks, and have had zero response. Trying to set up a car rental for the first of November. We've used him for a number of years, and have had occasional problems getting in touch, but nothing like this.

Has anyone had similar problems recently or know of anything going on with him? I do know he had some health issues a while ago, but we were told in March he was doing well.

Are you sending emails or trying to call? Suggest you try to call...

Emails, and just after I posted this, I checked my emails, and I had two from Alain that were just sent. He did say his "eyes were back" and that his shoulder is doing much better. Guess we didn't realize he had multiple problems.

Over the last two weeks I sent him two emails (from two of my different email servers) and filled out the request form and NADA (3 requests)....today I got a confirmation with a note saying he never got my emails....

Not a unique event and has been going on for years...I guess calling would solve the issue but I have a thing with filling out a form and getting nothing in response...why have the form?

Other than that great service....

We stopped using him, not because of him. It was just impossible to reach him.

Alain has a US phone number, according to his website.. 201-793-3667 Most of the other car rental guys also have a US number.

But honestly, if you are happy with a person's service otherwise, even if they don't have a US number, why don't you just spend $2 and call him? ...versus spending a whole bunch of time and worry, etc., etc., about sending numerous emails???

Never had a problem reaching Alain...maybe I'm just lucky but it's been 15 + years of using him and I don't have a single complaint! If I was concerned I'd call as he has a US telephone number, as Carol said, so it's not difficult. I am aware he's had a couple of medical issues and that may have contributed but still a great guy and a good choice for a rental car!

First time using Alain for this November - about $100 cheaper than others. No problems with communications.

i've used him for years....and his pricing was always great....and the service even better!!! what email are u using to try to get him?????

I will use his US Skype number next time. I have become anti-phone because most of the time I get voicemail then the phone tag starts but I will give it a go next year.

The email I used was [email]tripaaa@caribserve.net...send[/email] from both my Comcast and Gmail accounts over the period of 9 days...and a request form sent in addition.

I guess one got through (or was read) eventually 'cuz I got a confirmation.

I have comcast as well. Keep in mind comcast will block caribserve.net emails do to spam. I always email Alain through Gmail and have no issues with getting a response.
